Back Pain in One Word

Back pain is one of the most common and least understood maladies among health professionals. So imagine a study that found students reducing back pain by 58% over 4 weeks using a simple piece of foam. A 2012 study published in the journal  Physiotherapy found that students were doing just that in 12 schools in England.

If billions of dollars are spent each year on pills, MRIs, injections and surgeries with generally mediocre results at best, how can a simple piece of foam achieve such good results in such a short matter of time?

One word: Alignment

Today I had a new client come in with an x-ray report that essentially said that there was nothing wrong. The problem with that is that he is in pain every day!

I looked at the x-ray report and it said nothing about alignment. Even if it did, the x-ray was taken with him laying down! In the medical community there is not even the thought of alignment, they must wait for something to “look broken” before they can find “something wrong”. Their “solution” is then to go and “work” on the broken part often via injection or surgery. I have great respect for many medical professionals but in this aspect I say:

That’s like driving by looking in the rear-view mirror!!

Personally I think it’s a bit crazy to even wait for back pain before addressing it. About 80% of people in the US will experience back pain in their lives. For many it will become chronic. When I look around I see poor posture everywhere. It’s pretty much expected and accepted!

If you expect more and accept no less, begin to address your alignment issues today! Remember, the study quoted above was among 14-16-year-olds and they were already suffering from alignment issues. How far behind are you?
