Posture Correction Los Angeles
If you’re like most people, when you hear the words “posture correction” you suddenly “remember” to pull your shoulders back and push your chest out. That’s what we’ve all been taught that we are “supposed” to do, right?
What if I told you that that was completely backwards? What if I told you that forcing your body into a position of “good posture” is like standing on your toes to “be taller”? Yes, standing on your toes lifts you up but it does not make you taller. The same is true of the old idea of “holding the shoulders back”. Of course it looks like better posture but trying to use more muscle to hold up an already tense skeleton is like pretending to be taller by “remembering” to always stand on your toes.
Luckily, there is a better way.
Your skeleton is meant to hold your body upright. In perfect alignment this happens with very little effort by the muscles. In this arrangement your body has freedom of movement, there is no undue stress to the muscles or joints so we do not see the aches and pains that most people consider “normal”. Better yet, this is something that you can achieve!
With Advanced Biostuctural Correction™ (ABC™) the system of finding misalignments that the body cannot correct and correcting them has been discovered. Using this technique we can take any body and bring it back towards its normal, ideal alignment.

How Does It Work?
Your skeleton – which is meant to support your body while allowing for movement – is composed of series of interconnected moving parts. As with anything else with moving parts (think about a car engine or a watch), it works best when all parts are in the ideal arrangement or position. If your car is not tuned just right it won’t run as efficiently (or at all)!
Your skeleton is subject to slight alterations from falls, accidents, sports injuries (macrotrauma) and prolonged sitting, bad shoes, texting, typing, etc… (repetitive microtrauma). These forces degrade the alignment of the spine cumulatively throughout your life resulting in decreased structural stability, ie: poor posture.
Our techniques locate areas of instability that the body cannot correct on its own and bring those areas back towards their natural, stable, ideal alignment and with that we see the body return to it’s natural, upright, aligned state.
How Long Does It Take?
Every body is different. Many people will experience a noticeable improvement in posture from the very first treatment. Most others will have noticeable, undeniable changes by about 12 weeks of regular care. Occasionally, results take longer or are limited by certain factors (described below).
Factors which influence your particular progress may include:
Injuries you have sustained in the past.
Congenital or acquired spinal defects. (We may order an x-ray or other tests to look for these).
Your flexibility (Stiffer people may take longer to see changes but are often more stable. Very flexible people may change quicker but may take longer to stabilize.)
Your dedication and expectations. (I think our results are often nothing short of miraculous but you must remember, poor posture doesn’t start all at once, it is a cumulative process that took all of your life to get to where you are now.)
Your lifestyle. (Just like a race car or a classic car may require more work, some people’s lifestyle or history necessitate more care).
How Much Does It Cost?
You can look at the above answer to get an idea of how long this process may take for you. Our prices are per visit and unlike many other places, not a secret. Call our office for latest prices.
As an aside, I can say that I know what people often pay for new cabinets in their house or new rims on their car and most people could have a vastly upgraded body for less money out of pocket by following a program with us.
Additionally, though it is not the primary benefit, I must mention that there are cosmetic benefits to better posture. Go stand in front of a mirror and pretend to stand very straight. You may notice the following:
You appear taller and more confident.
You look trimmer in the mid-section.
Bust/chest and buttocks are more prominent.
Double chin or jowels, reduced.
Smoother walk/movements, more comfortable in your body.
You can check some of the before/after posture photos on this site to see these changes for yourself. Remember when comparing the cost of correcting your posture to factor it against what people regularly pay to “look” better.
Can’t I Just Do This Myself at Home?
Just as you cannot pick yourself up from your shoelaces, your body cannot correct many misalignments which occur in the spine which is why the vast majority of human bodies simply collapse with gravity as they age. This does not have to be the case! With appropriate intervention you can halt, and yes, reverse this process. It’s like a cheat code in a video game.
