If you or someone you know is suffering from shoulder pain that is not resolving with treatment then perhaps it is time to widen the perspective of where the problem is. There are a number of names for differing shoulder maladies depending on what tissues and/or structures are affected. Some of these names include:
|Shoulder Impingement Syndrome||Labrum Tears|
|Shoulder Bursitis||Deltoid Strains|
|Rotator Cuff Tears||Supraspinatus/Teres Sprains|
Of course there are a number of possible ways to injure a shoulder and utilizing the tools of diagnosis and treatment are helpful for many people but as noted in this video, I believe the often present larger-picture issue of concurrent poor posture is often a predisposing co-factor if not the causative factor for a number of shoulder complaints.
In medicine technology is advancing unyieldingly some would say towards a greater understanding of less and less. All too frequently in our quest to understand the granular particulars of real world phenomena we forget that in the real world things are not so granular; they are much more interconnected.
We have seen numerous cases wherein a patient’s shoulder complaints were resolved or improved by not “treating” their shoulder at all but instead by addressing posture.
